Woodbridge is the original heart of Vaughan, settled heavily by Italian immigrants starting in the 1960s and 70s. That heritage remains deeply embedded in the community's culture, food, and architecture. The area is known for its large detached homes, often custom-built on 50–60 foot lots, with meticulously maintained landscaping and stone driveways that have become something of a Woodbridge signature.
Islington Avenue and Hwy 7 are the main commercial spines, anchored by Italian bakeries, espresso bars, butchers, and restaurants that authentic you'd struggle to find elsewhere in the GTA. The Boyd Conservation Area on the Humber River provides green space and hiking trails. Highways 400 and 427 make car commutes to Toronto and Pearson manageable, and the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre subway station (Line 1 extension) is a short drive or bus ride away.
