About Distillery District

The Distillery District was rescued from demolition in the early 2000s and transformed into one of North America's best examples of adaptive reuse. The Victorian industrial complex — originally the Gooderham & Worts Distillery, once the world's largest — now houses galleries, restaurants, boutiques, performance venues, and luxury condominiums.

The neighbourhood has a distinctly European feel that sets it apart from the rest of Toronto. Cars are largely excluded from the core, making it pedestrian-friendly. The Christmas Market draws over a million visitors annually. Living here means gallery openings, restaurant launches, and a front-row seat to Toronto's most Instagrammed streets. The upcoming Ontario Line will significantly improve access, which is currently served primarily by the 504 King streetcar.
